Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

-- Revelation 13:18

Yeah I dare to create this hubpage since nobody wanted to: fortunately I'm not supertistious just interested in the origin of Myths :)

In fact It was for trying to answer Connie's request "The black stone in the Holy Kaba. What is the history? Sun Goddess Allat was related to this and was it originally a black cube? What is the significance of black?" for which I have in fact no idea, that I fall upon an interesting hypothesis about the origin of 666:

2012: Appointment With Marduk is Turkish writer/researcher Burak Eldem's best-selling book (Istanbul, 2003) on hypothetical Planet X and Mayan "End Date" 2012. Eldem proposes a "return date" for this planet in 2012 and presents an analysis of the correlation between Mayan and Babylonian cosmologies.

The book also proposes an unorthodox explanation for the enigmatic Number of the Beast (numerology) by proposing a misinterpretation: The orbital period of Planet X or Marduk (planet) was 3661 years; and this number was written as a "three wedges in a row" in Mesopotamian sexagesimal mathematics. The sign for number 1 was used three times for 3600 (Shar), 60 (Ges) and 1 (As) respectively which made 3661 in total. And the cuneiform sign for "1" was very much alike the Hebrew letter "Waw" or "Vav", which had "6" as numerical value. As Eldem puts the matter in his book, Hebrew priests apparently adopted the "secret number" of Marduk and misinterpreted the sign as "666", or, "three Vav's". Because Marduk was the enemy's god, this number eventually became the "mark for Devil's Servant", and later "Anti-Christ"s sign in Christianity.

Guess what: one of my next article will be "2012, will it be the End of the World ?" :)

Very interesting. I think we should not be afraid of any number, even if there is 13 or 666. They really don't represent "good things" in public opinion, but they are just numbers.

True that, many are afraid to touch this particular subject matter. I see fear as a healthy emotion, it helps to hone many aspects of our lives. Fear is only bad when one allows it to cloud growth or vision. As for the numbers themselves; the numbers do hold meaning, but I am not sure that we are not faulty in our attempts to decipher what the truths are. Not much is absolute.

Nero's address was 666, since it is associated with negative energy I challenged myself to publish http://hubpages.com/hub/6-6-6-_Vick_Jena_Torture

If you take the number 666 and you add them it will be equal to 18, which is 6+6+6=18 and if add 1+8=9 then, Satan's number becomes one of God's divine and creative numbers because all religions and I do mean, all of them have their origins in space and among the heavenly worlds and stars and we are the true sons of God and God itself at the highest level of being.

We are the Tree of Life and the Tree of Science and without us then, there is no biblical god, no devils and no angels because we are everything that has ever being, is and will ever be, G-d as an infinite creating force having purpose and direction and the absolute unity of all spiritual and psychical consciousness and not God as a person.
