As we learned in Plato's Republic, the elite need Religion as a lie for supposedly Public Good. To implement a One World Government (see the New World Order of Bush/Clinton) through the United Nations (naive people who don't know history ignore that United Nations was originally the League of Nations crafted by Colonel House a Rockfeller's agent), it is rather logical that they should also need a One World Religion.
